Nelson Lake, Ontario - Julien Laferrice
My name is Julien Laferrice, and I play drums for Kasador.
I’m from northern Ontario, and I grew up in Sudbury Ontario, a little further up north. I grew up going fishing, camping and all that stuff.
There is one lake, called Nelson Lake, that probably no one in the world knows, but is very special place to me. It is a crystal clear blue lake, and I have so many memories there. It somewhere that whenever I think of water, I think of my happy place at Nelson Lake in northern Ontario.
It’s just a small lake, pretty far up north, with no cellphone service, and not too many people camping. I spent a lot of time there as a kid. There’s some dusty roads, and it’s pretty far but it’s so worth it--the water is incredible! The water is clear and blue. I go fishing and swimming there.
I’ve been living in Toronto for a few years now, so those days are behind me. It’s been a few years since the last time I went. I haven’t done much since I’ve been in the city, and playing music and stuff. However, the day will come when we get together as a group, and get to go together to this beautiful lake, and see this beautiful body of water. When I was a kid, I used to rock to ‘The Hip,’ so someday I’ll get to go back there and listen to those songs again. It's my own Bobcaygeon.
